Lisa Thames is a landscape and still life artist. Her original oil paintings begin in the rural outskirts of her hometown, Laurel, Mississippi and stretch across to scenes of Europe. Thames' art is a quest to discern the composition of nature; capturing the magic of shadows, layers, and texture in the scenery surrounding her. Laurel is the home of the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, a constant influence and inspiration for her artwork. The duet of the town and the museum have fostered a thriving artist community for generations.
